Judy Sherman
Artist's Biography
Judy was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She graduated the Advertising and Graphic Design
program at Humber College as well as taking additional courses at the Ontario College of Art and
Design. After a career in graphic design and illustration, Judy continued her training in Florence, Italy
studying Academic Drawing and Painting with Michael John Angel. Judy has been invited to jury shows
and conducts various workshops and classes as well as teaching drawing and painting from her personal
studio. She is represented in Canadian and American galleries. Her paintings have won awards and hang
in corporate and private collections worldwide.
Artist Statement
Things aren’t always as they appear to be. At first glance my paintings may make you smile, whether it be a still life consisting of toys or a chicken with a knife, the true meaning lies just beneath. Inspired by life, my work is a visual commentary on world circumstances. With a little humour and a gentle nudge the message is delivered.
