Olaf Schneider​

Artist's Biography

​

Born 1964, Olaf Schneider studied at the Ontario College of Art and Sheridan College. At the age of 21, he began working full time, painting large scale outdoor advertising billboards for Canada's leading outdoor advertising company Outfront Media Inc. (formerly known as CBS Outdoor and Mediacom). Greatly inspired by his mentor Ron Grieg, and artists Norman Rockwell and William Bouguereau, Olaf's work displays his affinity with the classical tradition. Each piece represents an intense exploration and refinement of the artist's pictorial sensitivities as they relate to beauty, form, light and shade, composition, color, and craftsmanship. An explorer by nature, Olaf travels across North America, gaining inspiration from the power and diversity of the northern landscape.
