Sebastien Fitch

Artist's Biography

A recent graduate of the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto, Canada. His works encompass a variety of media, including painting, collage and sculpture in wood, metal and plaster.
His wall-hung sculptures are in what is known as a biomechanical style, which itself stems from the surrealist movement of the early twentieth century. Integrating mechanical elements with biological ones, these works focus attention on the increasingly frightening relationship the western world has with technology, taking the supposedly desired ideal of the "wired" individual and pushing it to an extreme, yet strangely imaginable conclusion.
